Sha Tin College TEDxYouth "Lost and Found" event was more than just a series of talks, it was a masterclass in perspective⭐️. From the microscopic world of atoms to the global stage of cultural identity and language diversity we explored what it means to lose, to search, and to finally be found.

The "Lost and Found" Lineup:

🧠 The Memory Fossil: Stop hunting for facts; hunt for "sensory anchors" to rebuild your past.
🎨 The CV Trap: To find yourself after academic burnout, rediscover a hobby you’re willing to be "bad" at.
🕯️ The Guiding Light: "Be bright enough to guide, but not too bright to burn." Self-care is the fuel for service.
🐉 The Cultural Remix: Chinese heritage is being "found" again, transformed from ancient relics into a modern creative toolkit.
🌌 The Quantum Surrender: We "lost" the truth by wanting control. We "found" it by embracing the beauty of probability.
💧 The Water Bottle Wisdom: Every loss creates a "free hand." What three gains have replaced your latest loss?
🌍The Polyglot Soul: Language is a "lost and found" department for empathy. Multilingualism is to find a new version of yourself and the world.

The Takeaway: Getting lost isn't the end of the road, it’s the beginning of the story. 🧭💎

Thank you to our 6 incredible student speakers and our guest teacher for sharing their "Ideas Worth Spreading." 🎤✨

The Wellbeing Team welcomed parents on campus to learn about building stronger connections with their teens through communication 🗣

First off, parents reflected on their own parenting styles 🤔then looked at the differences in how adults and teens tend to communicate and explored the barriers to communication🚫

Parents learned about the Satir Model Iceberg to dive deeper into understanding that their teen’s surface behaviours are a reflection of their underlying feelings, perceptions, expectations, yearnings etc. This was followed by a quick review of Communication Do’s and Don’ts ✅❎

✨The highlight of the workshop and our main stars were our trained student volunteers who joined us to role-play real-life scenarios with the parents🎬 Parents and students fully engaged in this immersive experience and were able to develop empathy and gain further insights on how to enhance their communication with each other. Student volunteers provided feedback to parents and parents asked many questions to gain clarity.

Parents are left with a handbook, a parent-child communication toolbox, as well as access to the Parent TV subscription to support their continuous journey of learning and parenting.

Shoutout to our brave parents and brilliant students for making this workshop such a success!

Five of our Year 11 students, Kate Chiu, Sharmaine Wong, Abby Yung, Renee Wang and Amanda Wong, took the stage at the recent ESF Stronger Safeguarding Together Conference 2026. Speaking to an audience of 240 educators and professionals at the Regal Kowloon Hotel, they shared powerful perspectives on online safety, relationships, and digital life.

It was a proud moment to see our students standing alongside experts from Schools, Academia, NGOs, Law, Psychology, and the Hong Kong Police. Their insights were so impactful that they’ve been invited to join the STC Wellbeing Curriculum Design Group to help shape the future of our safeguarding practices👍.

Empowering student voices to lead the way! 🌟
