Explorer Week is an opportunity to stop our normal routines and value the learning experience that can be made outside the classroom. During Explorer Week, lessons are suspended for five days and students can participate in a broad range of activities that are not normally available through the regular timetable. Explorer Week is one of the highlights of the experiential learning opportunities at Sha Tin College.
The Activities Programme is a key part of our experiential learning approach to empowering students to pursue their passions, explore new interests, and make new friendships. We aim to ensure a balanced range of activities for students allowing them to ‘Discover Themselves and Others’, ‘Build Community’, ‘Develop Skills for Life’, and ‘Demonstrate Sustainability’.
At Sha Tin College we encourage every student to make a positive difference to our community. As exemplified in our leadership model, we believe that leadership is a choice, can be developed and practised, and that everyone has the potential to be a leader. Our approach to student leadership is supported by clear structures, offering a range of opportunities for students across all year levels to lead.

The Higher Education events were highly rewarding experiences for me as I was able to gain valuable insight into what campus life and the application process were like at different universities.

In the Activities Programme, I was able to challenge myself and improve my skills. I was glad to be able to share my passion with other students and inspire them to enjoy it as much as I do.

The well-rounded curriculum and nurturing learning environment at the school have played a crucial role in my child's academic achievements. The rigorous coursework and committed teachers have equipped her with vital knowledge while fostering critical thinking and problem-solving skills. Furthermore, the focus on holistic development has enabled her to thrive not only academically but also as a well-rounded individual. I find the parent engagement events to be incredibly beneficial. Coffee mornings and Back to School information evenings have given me valuable insights into my child's school experience and academic progress. These gatherings promote open communication with teachers and other parents, allowing me to stay informed and actively involved in her educational journey. The sense of community created by these events is both reassuring and supportive.

Theory of Knowledge (TOK) was an incredibly inspiring journey that nurtured my intellectual curiosity and developed crucial skills that extend beyond the boundaries of the IB DP.

Studying International Sports Management in the IB CP has been a pleasure. It allowed me to have a good balance between my personal/athletic lifestyle and school life.

What's New at STC?
This afternoon, we welcomed Year 9 and 11 parents to campus to explore the exciting academic pathways available to their children. The session covered everything from course details to future prospects, featuring insightful presentations from teachers and current students. Our students are now well-equipped to make informed decisions about their academic futures, and we're excited to see what their future holds.
Today, our Year 10 students lessons for the first time, teaching SJS Year 3 students math, I&S, PE and visual arts. Our students enjoyed the meet-and-greet session with the SJS students and gained invaluable teaching experience, developing their social and leadership skills in their Teach and Inspire Project.
This week, our Environmental Council members inspired action with a book drive held from Monday to Friday. Students generously donated their pre-loved books, giving them a new home and raising money for The Green Earth.
There will also be a recycled paper origami workshop tomorrow at the basketball court – we hope to see you there!
Recently, four of our Year 10 students successfully completed a flight discovery programme and earned a Boeing-Jeppesen Endorsement Certificate, which aligns with Federal Aviation Administration (FAA) industry training standards.
Darren Lo, Hans Yan, Jenson Choi and Eugene Jiang relished the opportunity to gain a structured foundation in aviation knowledge, flight operations and critical competencies in flight planning, aerodynamics and airspace operations.
Our Environmental Council organised this fun event where players first showed their commitment to sustainability by participating in a Recycling Competition, collecting 127kg of recyclables. Congratulations to the tournament champions Hairong Liu, Nicholas Ngai, Isaac Law, Marcus Fung, and Gary Leng!

Our Student Council spread the love this Valentine's Day. From early morning flower deliveries brightening everyone's day to preparing the stage for our talented performers, they made the day special. The rain didn’t stop our students’ passion for music and their enthusiasm for being in the audience to celebrate their talent.
This morning, our parents enjoyed coffee and conversations with teachers from Higher Education, Middle School and Senior School. It was a great morning of connection and collaboration.
Inspiration abounded today as our students met with top universities (Imperial College, King's College and UCL) and heard from Class of 2021 alumna Jessica Chan, who shared her journey to the HKU-UCL dual law programme.
Yesterday evening, our PTSA meeting celebrated our students' and parents' incredible contributions to our local community. Thanks to their hard work and dedication, Sha Tin College has been recognised as a Caring School.
