The Activities Programme is a key part of our experiential learning approach to empowering students to pursue their passions, explore new interests, and make new friendships. We aim to ensure a balanced range of activities for students allowing them to ‘Discover Themselves and Others’, ‘Build Community’, ‘Develop Skills for Life’, and ‘Demonstrate Sustainability’.
At Sha Tin College we encourage every student to make a positive difference to our community. As exemplified in our leadership model, we believe that leadership is a choice, can be developed and practised, and that everyone has the potential to be a leader. Our approach to student leadership is supported by clear structures, offering a range of opportunities for students across all year levels to lead.

The well-rounded curriculum and nurturing learning environment at the school have played a crucial role in my child's academic achievements. The rigorous coursework and committed teachers have equipped her with vital knowledge while fostering critical thinking and problem-solving skills. Furthermore, the focus on holistic development has enabled her to thrive not only academically but also as a well-rounded individual. I find the parent engagement events to be incredibly beneficial. Coffee mornings and Back to School information evenings have given me valuable insights into my child's school experience and academic progress. These gatherings promote open communication with teachers and other parents, allowing me to stay informed and actively involved in her educational journey. The sense of community created by these events is both reassuring and supportive.

The IBDP Visual Art SL/HL Art Exhibition showcases a year and a half of dedicated effort by our talented students✨. This ambitious event features a variety of techniques and materials, highlighting each student's unique line of inquiry.🖌
Each exhibition space reflects remarkable independence, with students exploring their themes deeply. Accounting for 40% of their final grade, this exhibition not only showcases creativity but also celebrates their hard work.
Last Tuesday’s opening was a fantastic opportunity to honor their achievements and appreciate the vibrant range of artistic expressions on display.🎖
Let's throw back to the day that we held the inaugural STC Docathon Premiere. Docathon is a documentary making competition where students choose an issue that aligns with the SDGs and collaborates with an organisation in their community who is also addressing the same issue📩.
As part of the Docathon course students are taught how to craft powerful and impactful stories through the medium of film🎬, as well as mentored by a professional filmmaker.
Our student filmmakers did more than just complete a course - they became advocates for change and turned the lens on the issues that hit closest to home. The result? A series of documentaries that were as technically impressive as they were emotionally resonant.
We would like to thank our community partners Hanuman Charity, Gingko House and Pathfinders for opening their doors and sharing their missions.🔥
A big congratulations to the three groups who participated. Two of the documentaries have been shortlisted for the next stage of the competition and the third group’s film will be shown as an exemplar in future Docathon workshops.
The students are: Themis Ho, Tiffany Zhong, Angela Mak, Hazel Lam, Gabrielle Lee, Scarlett Man, Teresa Rana, Grace Chung, Rosanne Wong, Kari Wan, Tabitha Tay.

The NOVA showcase is coming! The showcase will take place on Wednesday 22 April. As always the NOVA team will be looking to raise awareness as to how dance can help with your mental health and wellbeing. They are looking forward to working with Yr 7 students in their Health unit. "We should consider every day lost in which we have not danced at least once."Friedrich Nietzsche, Philosopher and critic
A big thank you to everyone who joined us in the car park for the Friendship February event hosted by our Peer Supporters Committee and the Wellbeing Team💓!
Armed with colourful beads, blank letters, and padlocks, students got creative, crafting tokens of appreciation for their friends. Bracelets were strung, letters were written, and padlocks were personally customised, each one carrying a meaningful symbol of friendship. 💌🔐
The carpark was filled with laughter, conversation, and plenty of creativity as students took time to show gratitude for the people around them. Stay tuned for more upcoming Peer Supporters events!
🚀👾A big thank you to everyone who participated in the IWD Local Design Techathon, hosted on February 8th! The STC participants and supervisors as well as the external support staff, judges and mentors all did amazingly in their roles, with every team being able to create software prototypes, wireframes, and designs as well as completing a pitch to the judges all within one day!
We extend our gratitude to our student support staff team as well as Mr. Baumgarten and the other supervising teachers present- we wouldn’t have been able to do this without their support! We also thank the judges and mentors for taking time out of their weekend to offer their valuable expertise and guidance.
We hope all participants were able to gain something from this experience, whether it was an award, learning to use new technology platforms, or meeting new people. Outstanding teams received the following awards from the judges:
🥇Team ‘a’: Myles Chiu, Joshua Wood, Jayden Wu, Karson Lam (⭐️Team which will also be moving onto the TeensinAI Global Techathon)
🥈Team ‘authentic chingus’, Team ‘CyberForge’, Team ‘TEKIT’
🥉Team ‘F&E’
Thank you to all teams and remember to keep a lookout for more TeensinAI initiatives in the future!
