Service learning at Sha Tin College inspires students to approach the world with curiosity, seeking to understand and engage with the needs of different communities. By fostering a spirit of inclusion, students learn to embrace diverse perspectives and build connections that strengthen communities. Through acts of responsibility and generosity, they are encouraged to take meaningful action, creating positive and lasting change. This journey not only shapes their character but also empowers them to contribute thoughtfully to a better world.
IB MYP Service as Action encourages Years 7-9 to extend their learning beyond the classroom. Student initiatives reflect our commitment to fostering socially responsible students ready to make meaningful contributions to their communities.
IB MYP Year 9 Community Project offers students a platform to apply their skills and talents to positively impact their communities. As students complete the MYP, they engage with local and global issues, enhancing their collaboration, communication, and critical thinking skills. Utilising the inquiry cycle, students investigate, plan, act and reflect on their service experiences.
IB DP CAS Programme fosters a culture of compassion and responsibility, preparing students to be active and engaged citizens. The 21st-century skills, such as collaboration, creative and critical thinking, problem-solving and people skills, developed by the students will benefit them immensely in their lives beyond Sha Tin College.
