I/GCSE Overview
In Years 10 and 11, the curriculum is designed to provide a dynamic and inclusive educational experience, with the aim of preparing students for success in a rapidly changing world. Rooted in academic excellence and enriched by our core values of curiosity, generosity, responsibility, and inclusivity, our program fosters intellectual growth, emotional resilience, physical well-being, and social development. We aim to ensure that when students leave us, they are well-rounded individuals ready to contribute as active members of a global society.
The curriculum is built around a combination of (I)GCSE syllabi, non-assessed subjects such as Physical Education and Wellbeing, and a wide range of extracurricular opportunities. All students follow a core pathway that integrates these elements, while also having the flexibility to tailor their academic journey to align with their individual aspirations, ensuring a balanced and personalised approach that supports each student’s growth and success.
Through a broad range of available subjects, we aim to inspire curiosity and develop a lifelong love of learning. Students are encouraged to ask questions, explore new ideas, and become both critical and creative thinkers. We also foster a spirit of inquiry, adventure, and self-confidence, helping students embrace challenges and grow into independent, open-minded individuals.
We nurture responsibility by empowering students to take ownership of their studies and actions. They are challenged to act with integrity, set and achieve academic and personal goals, and develop the self-discipline and confidence needed to succeed. These skills prepare them to take on future roles as active and responsible global citizens.
At the heart of our curriculum, we promote generosity by encouraging empathy, collaboration, and kindness. Students are guided to support one another and actively contribute to their communities, both within and beyond the school, making a positive impact on the lives of others while promoting a global perspective.
At Sha Tin College, we aim to ensure every individual feels valued and supported. We provide a purposeful and welcoming environment where students of all abilities and interests are encouraged to reach their full potential. By celebrating diversity, we promote tolerance, open-mindedness, and inclusivity, helping to ensure we are preparing our students for a lifetime of intellectual growth, social responsibility, and a commitment to making meaningful contributions to the world.
